Emails: The Good Doctor Has Spoken!

0

Dear TWIF,

Hey, Hey, We’re the Buckeyes! The following is dedicated to world renowned Buckeye cynic Ken Halloy. Sing it to the tune of the Monkees’ catchy theme song. Here they come, walking down the street

They’re the Nittany Lions, the team that can’t be beat Hey, hey, we’re the Buckeyes, the team that makes the media frown But we’re too busy winning, to let that bring us down.

On Saturday we’ll kick the Lions’ a–; yes that’s the way it will be It’s too bad for the media, ‘cause then we’ll be ranked No. 3. Now didn’t that just bring a smile to everyone’s face? What can I say? I’m insane! I have a disease; Buckeye fever. Catch it!

All rights to this song are reserved. I’ll sing it personally for $5 if you bring recording devices ($50 in royalties excluded). But Ken, for you I’ll sing it on your radio show next Sunday for free!

Dr. Angelo Georges, Wheeling, W.Va.

Dear Doctor, Doctor,

I’ve got the blues ‘Cause now I’ve gotta admit that I really know you!

No Buckeye win will remove my shame

‘Cause now my rep is down the drain!

Hey, Doc, if you don’t quit your day job, I won’t quit mine! And just for the record, GO BUCKS! BEAT PENN STATE!

Dear TWIF,

Am sure you’re eating a lot of crow following the Ohio State win at Michigan State. I’d like to say I hope you enjoyed every bite, but I actually hope you gagged on it!

Steve, Marion

Dear Steve,

It was a bit salty, but a meal I’d gladly force down every week as long as the Buckeyes keep winning!

Dear TWIF,

The Bengals are as bad now as they were in the dreadful 1990s. The difference is that this team actually has some talent, which begs the question:

How long will Mike Brown wait to let Marvin Lewis go? Lewis has clearly lost control of the team. He coaches with about as much emotion as his players display on the field. It’s stunning to think this was a playoff team just a couple of years ago.

When will it end?

Bob, Xenia

Dear Bob,

I agree Lewis has lost the respect of his players, and that his future with the team should come to an end after this season.

Don’t know what the point would be in letting him go now. I don’t think this group of losers will play any harder for either of the coordinators.

The only reason to let Lewis go now would be if fans sensed that ownership was apathetic to the situation. Sometimes coaching changes are made in mid-stream just to let the fans know ownership is aware of the situation.

The thing is, I think Bengal fans have become completely apathetic to the situation. They’ve already written off this season, so a coaching change now won’t mean anything to them.
