BEREA, Ohio – The Cleveland Plain Dealer has confirmed that the sale of the Cleveland Browns to the ownership group of Jimmy Haslam III is now official.
The deal reportedly is in excess of $1 billion. It has been previously reported that Haslam’s group would purchase 70 percent of the team, with Randy Lerner maintaining a 30 percent ownership.
Haslam is the president and CEO of Tennessee-based Pilot Flying J, the largest owner of travel centers in North America and the brother of Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam.
